THE PERFECT ENSEMBLE! BEST JEWELRY FOR YOUR NECKLINE!

Hey Jewelry lovers,

Namaste!

I hope you all are doing great and enjoying your summers. Yes, I know that its too hot, but at least its more fun dressing up in summers.
Before I start, I also want to share an interesting incident with you. Me and my husband were in Delhi this weekend. It was Sunday afternoon and after some shopping, we were standing in front of the mall waiting for our cab. So, then comes a car which was stopped by the police, I don't know the exact reason, but I think for crossing the red light. The policeman asked this man to show his driver's licence. The man realised that he forgot it at home and says sorry. To this the police guy says 'Challan katega' (You will be fined). So this car guy innocently says ' Haanji bhaiya kitna lagega, Haan meri galti hain' (Ok how much, I know I am guilty). After hearing this,the policeman was surprised and after looking around whispered something. The car guy shouted suddenly and said 'Main challan doonga, mujhe ye sab nahi karna' (I will pay the fine amount only). I guess the policeman asked for bribe, but the car guy turned out to be a nice and honest citizen. The policeman was ashamed and the guy left after handing over the fine to him.
I and Avinash watched the whole incident and even we were so surprised by what the car guy did. RESPECT for such people! I am sure that the policeman from now onwards will hesitate from doing this, or maybe even change. 
So, the moral of the story is..."CHANGE YOURSELF FIRST, OTHERS WILL FOLLOW"
No country is perfect, only you can make it better...

Well, lets begin with today's topic. Today, I was just randomly looking at some google images related to jewelry, and guess what I found.

HOW TO CLEAN YOUR JEWELRY AT HOME?

Hello Jewelry lovers,

I guess you all are aware about the fact, that there are so many things in your kitchen that are superb multi taskers. Such items are used not just in cooking but also in your beauty routine and cleaning the house. I remember how my mother used to pamper me with her home made beauty recipes. No doubt, they gave wonderful results.
Similarly, there are various items can bring the sparkle back to your jewelry, most of which you probably have at home.......So let's begin...

1. Toothpaste
    Put a little toothpaste on an old brush and use it on your diamond ring instead of your teeth. This will bring the shine back. Later, clean off the residue with a damp cloth. Do not use it on pearls.
Haha, a dentist is recommending colgate toothpaste for jewelry cleaning....:)

2. Beer
    Pour some bear on a dry soft cloth and rub it gently over your gold jewelry. Use a towel to dry. This will give a polished look to your gold and bring back that glow. Do not use on gemstones.

3. Club soda
    Soak your diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphire overnight in a glass full of club soda.This will give them a bright sheen. In the morning, wipe them and pat dry.

4. White vinegar
    Let your gold jewelry soak in white vinegar for 15 min, turning it occasionally. Remove and scrub gently, if needed.

5. Vodka
    Vodka can bring the sparkle back to hard stones such as diamonds. Just swirl your diamond rings or earrings in a glass of vodka  and wipe them thoroughly. Do not use it on opaque stones.

6. Ketchup
    Yes, even your favourite condiment can be used to clean tarnished silver. Dip your silver stuff in a small bowl of ketchup for a few minutes. To avoid damage, do not keep it for longer than necessary time.

7. Home-made Cleaner
    Place aluminium foil in a bowl and fill with hot water. Mix 1 tablespoon of bleach free detergent powder. Put the jewelry in the solution and let it soak for 2 minute. Rinse well and air dry. Do not use liquid detergent.

So, if your diamond ring has lost it lustre, you need not pay heavy amounts for those jewelry cleaners or to your jeweller. Just use these hacks and make your jewelry look new once again.

Happiness is everything. It's not out there, it's in you. People often relate happiness to their future, like their dream vacation, dream job, new car, home, soulmate, etc etc. But they do not realise that happiness can also be found in small things on a regular day.

Today I'll be discussing about some small tips that will help you brighten your present>>>>

(I guess you people might be thinking of how all this is related to Jewelry. But, today I am in mood to just share some of my thoughts with you. It's strange I know, but I get CRAZY sometimes.....can't help it..!!! hahaha)

So let's begin. 

1. APPRECIATE YOURSELF: It's not selfish to love yourself. So, take care of yourself and be proud of everything you do. It just takes a moment. Think of how awesome and unique you are. This will fill you with gratitude and Happiness will follow.

2. MAKE SOMEONE ELSE HAPPY: Tell your partner or family member that how much you love them. It will brighten his/her day and I am sure that it will bring a big smile to your face. You will feel better, I bet.....and it will help you appreciate the positive side of life.

3. DECIDE YOUR DAY: Do not wait for others to make plans. Instead, just do it the way you want. for example: I wish to go out for a picnic but none of my friends are ready because of various          

reasons. So what, just go hang out with your partner or family member. Your partner will never say             

no to your wishes. He/She feels happy when you are happy. So feel good about that rather than     

cursing your friends or feeling negative about yourself.

4. STOP OVERTHINKING: Overthinking is the most destructive thing that doesn't allow people to live happy. They overthink every little problem until it becomes bigger and scarier. Even I used to overthink a lot. But in the last 2-3 years I have learnt how to overcome this problem. I just ask myself a single question.......Will this matter in 5 years or even 5 weeks? This really helps me to let that situation go and use my time and energy in doing something that really matters. I truly believe that overthinking only makes you a very negative person. So, it is very importance to LET GO..

5. LIVE IN THE PRESENT: Do not think about your past or future. Live each and every moment of your life. The secret of being happy is to make the most out of everyday. Just go out, observe and look around. You won't believe life is so amazing. If you feel that you are getting lost somewhere, just shout at yourself...'STOP'.....and then reconnect with the present moments.

6. GO JEWELRY SHOPPING: hahaha.....the most important thing.....(This had to come).

Go pamper yourself by buying beautiful jewelry. For the men, go surprise your wives! But seriously who doesn't like surprises? It will make you happy, I am sure :)

So people.....BE CRAZY, BE STUPID, BE WIERD, BE WHATEVER. BECAUSE LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO BE ANYTHING, BUT HAPPY.....

Strike! Strike! Strike!

The jewellers strike against 1% excise duty on gold ornaments had taken the shine away from weddings in the country. The brides to be had put their wedding jewellery shopping on hold and many also feared that they might have to turn up to imitation jewellery. I believe these kind of strikes are a nightmare for brides to be. But finally it has been called off (temporarily) after 42 long days....a big relief for wedding shoppers. 

Well! Let's see what happens next...

This was my first Karvachauth look. My saree has beautiful white pearl stones embroided on it. So I teamed it up with these stunning pearl jhumkis made with 22 kt gold and beautiful diamond necklace with pearls hanging on it by Shree Durga Jeweller. The nath (nose ring) that I am wearing is the one I wore on my wedding day. And Avinash looks so cute.....:)hehehe
