JEWELRY AND OCCASIONS!

Every woman who desires a new piece of jewelry is often faced with a question.....What kind of jewelry would be apt for a certain occasion? We all understand clothing...what to wear and when to wear. Jewelry on the other hand is a little difficult to figure out.
People often think that jewelry can be worn only on bigger occasions such as weddings and parties. But as long as you wear the right kind of jewelry, then it works great for any occasion.

Casual look -
If you are going out with your friends, let your jewelry accent your clothes. Follow the simple trick.....Plain jewelry goes with prints while funky jewelry goes with plain simple clothes. Try to wear just a single bold piece. This trick will balance out your whole look.

Professional look -
At work, your look should be elegant as well as strong. So a pair of solitaire earrings or a pearl string would be perfect for a formal meeting.

Holiday party look -
For a holiday party, try to wear charm bracelets and chains. A beautiful headband or tiara would complete your look.

Evening party look -
Sparkling diamond jewelry, antique gold jewelry or necklace with large gemstones would be suitable for an evening party or wedding.
If you are going for a heavy outfit, complement it with just long earrings. The trick here is to emphasize on a single accessory.

It is very important for every woman to understand how to make the most of your jewelry. If you wish to get compliments from others, then you will have to spend a little thought and time to it.

LEARN HOW TO DRESS YOUR BODY WITH STYLE AND ELEGANCE, WHATEVER THE OCCASION IS....
AND ALSO KEEP YOUR JEWELRY WELL ORGANISED......

THE MANGALSUTRA CONNECTION!

Just came across this quote,

WOMEN WEAR MANGALSUTRA TO SHOW THAT THEY ARE MARRIED, MEN CARRY TUPPERWARE LUNCHBOXES INTO OFFICE TO SHOW THAT THEY ARE MARRIED......

Hahahaha......Isn't this funny.....I couldn't stop laughing after reading this...:)

Hello Jewellery lovers...
Today I'll be talking about the most important and sacred ornament of an Indian woman......yes you guessed it right.....THE MANGALSUTRA.....

The word Mangalsutra is derived from two words, mangal meaning auspicious and sutra meaning thread.
It is not just a thread but an emotional connect between two souls, the husband and wife. It is a sacred necklace that the groom ties around the bride's neck on the day of the wedding, thereby giving her the status of his wife and life mate. Thereafter, the wife wears it as a sign of their marriage, mutual love, understanding and faithful commitments to one another...
The Mangalsutra is worn by most married women across India. Each black bead in it is believed to have divine powers that protects the couple from the evil eye. Therefore for Indian women it is much more than just a fancy piece of jewellery, but a sacred symbol of love and marital happiness.

But in modern times, the concept of wearing a mangalsutra has changed visibly. Today, women choose their mangalsutras also keeping in mind the latest trends. They wish to wear something that is also fashionable.
So today I'll be discussing ways to choose a trendy as well as traditional mangalsutra for you....

RANDOM!

Strike! Strike! Strike!
The jewellers strike against 1% excise duty on gold ornaments had taken the shine away from weddings in the country. The brides to be had put their wedding jewellery shopping on hold and many also feared that they might have to turn up to imitation jewellery. I believe these kind of strikes are a nightmare for brides to be. But finally it has been called off (temporarily) after 42 long days....a big relief for wedding shoppers.
Well! Let's see what happens next...

Hey jewellery lovers
Hope you all are doing well and enjoying the summers.
Today I was just going through some of my older pictures and came through this lovely photograph of me and Avinash.

This was my first Karvachauth look. My saree has beautiful white pearl stones embroided on it. So I teamed it up with these stunning pearl jhumkis made with 22 kt gold and beautiful diamond necklace with pearls hanging on it by Shree Durga Jeweller. The nath (nose ring) that I am wearing is the one I wore on my wedding day. And Avinash looks so cute.....:)hehehe

I will talk about some latest jewellery trends in my next post......Till then... Stay Tuned!!!
